The top 3 in the Drivers Championship came home in exactly the same order! See their comments by below.

Winner - Shiro Ryong (SCUM)

Q - A fine win Shiro - and with that 4 stop strategy that you used so successfully in Monaco. What made you decide on the 4 stopper?

A - Thanks, it was nice to be able to win again after such a long time. As for the strategy, I was initially planning to do a 3 stopper but switched just before the race because of fears of excess front left tyre wear, which is actually a different reason to why I did 4 stops in Monaco. I also prefer to have a car that's similarly balanced throughout the stint. That's why you tend to see me do a lot of stops during races... 'digital' brake problems.

Q - What's the atmosphere like in the SCUM team at the moment? You must be thought of as a God!!

A - At the start of the season no one, including ourselves, expected us to achieve anything close to what we're doing now so we're all very happy but the championship isn't ours yet!

Q - You gained 2 points on your nearest challenger - Mikko - in the Drivers Championship, and now have a 12 point lead with 3 races to go. How will Monza suit you and your car - as you lack the BHP of Mikko's Mapes-VO and Daniel's EIRE?

A - Like Hockenheim, Monza will be very difficult because of our lack of power and to make it worse that type of circuit is probably my worst. So like Hockenheim, my goal is to try and finish on the lead lap!...And hope these guys don't take too many points away from me.

2nd Position - Mikko Jakonen (Mapes-VO)

Q - A race with some errors Mikko - errors which cost you the win. How did your race go and what problems did you have?

A - Yeah you're absolutely right. The car itself was good, we were on a good strategy, but once again the backmarkers forced me out of the track a couple of times, and as it seems, just enough to make me drop to 2nd in the end. The worst one was a spin in the 2nd last corner when I tried to overtake a backmarker on the inside and he suddenly closed the hole, so I had to break and lose the rear. That alone cost me 10 seconds. So I'm a bit angry at the moment. Of course the blame is on me too, I could've taken it a bit easier and still stay ahead of Shiro, but...He did a fine race though, and deserves the victory. I just can't afford these kind of mistakes at this stage.

Q - You are currently 12 points behind Shiro with 3 races to go. Monza is a power circuit and should suit your car well. Indianapolis again relies on a powerful car. And Suzuka is fast but twisty, so could be more of a leveller between the SCUM and Mapes-VO car. I believe you can still come through to challenge for the Championship - what are your thoughts on this?

A - Yes. 8 points behind would've been the preferred result. We'll absolutely have to use the advantage our engine offers and get both cars to finish before Shiro. Otherwise I'm done. But we will do our best to achieve that, I think it would be foolish to write us off just yet.

Q - Rumours abound that one of the fast drivers from early in the GPVWC season is returning for Monza. He could take points off you, but on the other hand he could help put an extra car between you and Shiro and thus reduce the points gap. I assume you will be putting a "maximum attack" philosophy into the Monza race that you Finn's seem to like so much?

A - Haven't heard those rumours, but it doesn't matter. I'll have to win at Monza anyway, and that's what we'll do. We have no options. Maximum attack with no mercy, and no mistakes.

3rd Position - Daniel Wilkinson (EIRE)

Q - 3rd place after 4 wins on the trot. You now stand 15 points behind Shiro and 3 behind Mikko. Do you see yourself still in with a shout of the Championship?

A - If us three keep finishing in the top3 then no I don't have a chance but if others came to the party then maybe. What I really need, and I think Mikko needs too, is for Shiro to have reliability problems otherwise he just has to finish in the top 3 or 4 and its his.

Q - Your new team-mate Kieran Ryan suffered reliability issues in the Hungarian race. EIRE have had problems all season long - what is the team aiming to do to improve that for the last 3 races?

A - Um, I dunno. His problem, as far as I understand, is an easy one to fix so we don't really have a reliability issue. Although now that I've said that we probably wont finish the next three races!

Q - It looks like EIRE have the advantage in the fight for 3rd place in the Constructor's standings, following Irisarri's time penalty in the Hungarian GP. Are you confident that you can help them to keep that 3rd place until the end of the season?

A - I had been concentrating on the constructors but when I started catching Mikko and Shiro I turned my attention to the drivers championship, but now that we have Kieran I think we can hold 3rd. Phoenix and especially Antonio, have been excellent this year, and that was bad luck he had today, but Jan hasn't lived up to my expectations, which were quite high.
