Woods Racing boss Oliver Woods managed to speak to the F1VWC Press after a tense time with bids and so on.

"I've just been informed by Toyota and Michelin that they have agreed to sign with us for the 2004 season," he said. "This is brilliant news - even if I could've got a longer Michelin deal with the amount we bid - and we should be set up well for 2004. We're also very pleased to sign Pepsi as our main sponsor after a year with them elsewhere, BP for fuel, and Yahoo, Siemens, and Nintendo. Each has given us gear for the long journeys in the motorhome which is also nice."

Woods had one problem however - second driver John Harland had disappeared.

"To be honest I haven't a clue what's happening with him, and this is his second time where he hasn't contacted me in ages. Last year we had problems elsewhere with drivers - I may have to look for another race driver and demote John to test driver (if its allowed) to get anything done."
