The Phoenix F1 team topped the timesheets on 2 of the 4 days of recent testing at the A1-Ring. Wilkinson, Irisarri and Nieuwlaar all raved about the new car, and the Michelin wet weather tyre.

The recent pre-season test in Austria provided true driver talent to show through. Wet conditions meant that the brute force of BHP was not such an advantage.

As a result, Irisarri topped Day 1 times and Wilkinson Day 3 times, with Wilkinson gaining the second quickest time of all 4 days.

Day 4 saw Nieuwlaar then concentrated on developing the Michelin wet weather tyre over longer distances, as did Wilkinson on Day 2.

"I'm really thrilled about the performance our drivers put in today" commented team boss Andy Graydon. "We know Antonio is strong in the wet, but the performance of the car in Daniel and Marks capable hands really does show how we have improved our new car over the old one".

It is widely rumoured that the teams new race livery and official launch will be held within the next 2 weeks.
