Matt Hunt will be loaned to SCUM (by Mapes-VO) for the Australian GP in Melbourne in just over 1 weeks time. It had been rumoured that Hunt wants a full race season in 2004, but F1VWC News believe that SCUM wish to see what his speed is before committing to a longer deal.

I?ve finally been able to get one of the SCUM management to ?fess up? regarding the rumours about who will be driving the #2 car in Melbourne next week. CEO, Dan Regan, had the following to say before boarding the team jet at Bradley Airport in Connecticut.

?Due to an agreement we have with our Australian backers to sign an Australian driver and our lack of reputation in racing circle (despite them winning the drivers title last year ?ed) we?ve been having a little trouble signing a driver to replace Shiro for the 2004 season. Shiro will be making some guest appearances during the season but, unfortunately for us, these appearances will be extremely limited. Hopefully, Shiro will be able to return next season, but until then, thanks to the generosity of the guys over at Mapes-Vo, Matt hunt will be driving for us on a race by race basis. We?re very happy to have Matt on board with us and I?m on my way down to Kikatinalong now to meet up with him and to prepare for the launch of the SC-O4.?
