After good start for FinOz 2004 campaign, most of the team members headed back to europe and only few days after last F1 engine was turned off at the pit garage, Ferrari engine was fired up again. This time at Barcelona. Juha Tanskanen and FinOz Racing test team, were on the track for 3 days to test some aerodynamics, setup and tyres for Malaysia.

First two days were dry and for 3rd and final test day track was wet for wet tyre development purposes.

Juha Tanskanen's comments from FinOz test:

"After Australian GP me and the test team had a test event at Barcelona. We concentrated mostly on tyre testing as our tyre supplier Michelin did provide some new tyre compounds which are still under development. First two days of tests we tested few different compounds of new tyres for dry conditions and on 3rd day of tests we tested some new tyre compounds for "intermediate" and wet conditions, thanks to Barcelona`s track irrigation system this which made it possible. Few words about the results of the test.

Michelin engineers have done a fantastic job, as they have been able to develop Michelin tyres to the new level already at this point of the season. The difference of the tyres what used at 2nd pre-season testing event at Barcelona and the tyres what we used now in this testing event was noticeable. I was able to improve my own personal best laptime of the barcelona circuit over 4 tenths so you can also notice the difference if you just look the lap times. I am very optimistic when talk about Malaysia, as Michelin tyres have always had an extra advantage to it`s rivals when the conditions are hot and humid. So i think we can expect a good result from Malaysia."

Also teammanager Kari Koski were present at the test:

"Team did superb job at Melbourne, Steve did great job brinning the car home on 4th place, shame Kari was 9th and didn't score any points, but both cars showed good race pace especially on 2nd and 3rd stints. Both were struggling on their first stint, maybe we had a bit wrong strategy and went for too long first stint, that cost some time and in Kari's situation maybe that one place for points.

Reliability was up there and in total, first race was very good. Now after 3 successful test days here at Barcelona we hope to be even more competitive at Malaysia. Michelin has done good job to futher develop their tyres and hopefully our tyres will be better than Bridgestone at Malaysia."
