The new championship leader Mikko Jakonen was not showing a happy face after qualifying which put him in 8th in the grid.

He had a few things to comment though:-

"This was the worst qualifying result of the season for me, and I'm afraid it will reflect on the race result as well. All the teams have tested here a lot, but we've focused more on general tyre tests and such, and apparently other teams have cultivated their race specific setups in advance. We just weren't able to get the car to go fast here, it's stable but we can't get enough speed out of corners. A little more testing might do the trick but as the cars are in parc fermé now there's nothing we can do".

"I'd be really surprised if I can fight for a podium finish, which unfortunately means I'm bound to lose my lead in the championship right away, as I think Scott is looking so good he'll be unstoppable. I'll do my best, but at the moment this looks like a weekend to forget quickly."
