The continuing progress of Simsoa is evident with both cars in the top 8 in Belgian Qualifying, but it was Javier Aparicio that proved the faster of the two drivers to secure 4th place on Full Wets, only 3 tenths behind Antonio Irisarri on Intermediates!

David Brown hoped to play it safe for the race and ran a steady qualifying lap to secure 8th. The rain in the past had proved a haven for the green and white car in the tests, but now has proved its credibility on a race weekend.

Lawrence talked to the press after the end of the session saying, "We're just amazed that Javier has pulled a great comeback! Also, David has kept his consistent improvement going which we're very pleased with. It seems like we can think of points here as well, possibly a podium if we're lucky. We assume from the speeds down the straights that most of the other drivers have been rattled by the wet weather and have acted accordingly, but we won't know the full extent until the first leap for La Source tomorrow."

The Japanese team have had an extreme energy boost after this showing and Lawrence has apparently been seen delivering a CD to the race directors which is thought to contain the Japanese national anthem - perhaps too extreme? Find out more after the race!
