The Grand prix of Belgium will be a weekend that the SCUM boys would rather forget.

With one car being pulled from the race just before qualifying was to start, a driver going AWOL and a woeful setup on the other car, the weekend was never going to be anything to write home about.

SCUM'S supposed full time driver of car No2 Angelo Wolner walked away from the team motorhome on Friday night stating that he was quitting the team and was going to look for another drive for the 2005 season. After the initial shock of his departure, Dan and Rab had a few drinks to celebrate and then started playing with the setup of Rab's car (what a big mistake that turned out to be).

On Saturday morning SCUM notified the F1VWC administration that Wolner would no longer be driving for the team and they were told that because he had missed the last 2 races he was not eligible to race anyway.

Saturday qualifying came around and it saw Rab Harding qualify in 10th position on a wet track. Rab was quoted as saying the car felt really good in the wet (an omen that should've woken the team up to the fact that it wasn't going to feel good in the dry).

As the race started the team thought they had a good chance for points, but Rab went from 10th to 14th after the first lap. Unfortunately he stayed there for virtually the whole race. He was telling the team that he had way too much over steer and the back end was stepping out through the fast corners. Rab finished the race well out of the points.

On a brighter note for the team, we believe that they are negotiating with another team for the services of another driver to finish the 2004 season. We believe that he is a seasoned driver who will get the most out of the SC204.

If this comes to fruition, then he will be the 6th driver who has sat in the SC204 this season, which has been quite a disruptive season for the team.

I believe the boys will be looking for a full-time driver for the 2005 season, one who is competitive and reliable. If you know of anyone that fits that description, have them contact the SCUM boys for a chance to test the car.
