Puma F1 boss, Dave Cummings has signed for Simsoa Racing as lead test driver despite the signing of Buchan early in September on a sharing basis with future team JPR (Jagforce Precision Racing).

Lawrence Simpson was seen making a statement at a test session at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan, where they were testing the latest aerodynamic packages for the SA-04V fitted to the current SA-03V...in his statement, he said that:

"After discussion with Puma F1 over the last few days, we can reveal that we have signed Dave Cummings as our lead test driver for next season..."

A deluge of flash bulbs lit the conference room as Lawrence took a calm sip of water; he then continued:

"...we believe that Dave has great potential as well as excellent dependability, which to us is a valuable asset...he will be partnering David [Brown] and Javier once they get back from Silverstone [due to the Gold Cup Race in which David had finished 5th], which should be by tomorrow afternoon."

Dave Cummings and Puma F1 were currently testing their 2005 entrant, the PMA-02 "Atlantis" at the Silverstone circuit shortly after the Gold Cup had finished . Dave wished to voice his opinion on joining the Japanese outfit:

"I am looking forward to a new challenge with the Simsoa family, which we hope will help both Puma and the Simsoa team go further within the championship in 2005."

"I have met Lawrence on many occasions and feel that our friendship will only get stronger as we work together. I have been for a few drinks with David [Brown] and we hit it off! I am very happy to be part of this up and coming racing family."

It is believed that John Harland will maintain the testing duties as Dave now is on his way to Suzuka for initial rundowns on the 2005 concept car. Dave Cummings will continue as Puma F1 manager alongside with his new testing duties.

Simsoa hope that he finds his time with them very fulfilling and enjoyable.
