BA Racing released the following announcement:

"We, the BA Racing Team, would like to announce the contracts that we have signed recently to ensure that we can have a successful season in the 2001 GPVWC.

Due to a disagreement between the team manager (Neil Robinson) and Mercedes Benz we will not be continuing using the engines and have decided to use the race proven Ferrari engines this coming season due to their excellent performance and reliability.

After lengthy meetings and dinners between the Neil Robinson and Jaguar Racing we have come to a deal which supplies us with the chassis for this season and maybe longer depending on its reliability and performance.

After a deal with Shell fell through we decided on taking aboard Texaco as they are just as good and can help supply quality fuel to propel the cars to victory.

Finally the tyre choice was a very simple matter as Bridgestones is the only choice for sheer grip and proven success at the highest level."
