The reigning Constructors Champions unveiled their 2001 challenger today

Andrew Dickson, Richard Dickson & Christian Neumann were all present to talk about the teams and their own prospects for the 2001 season.

After a very successful first season in the 2000 GPVWC, the A-Racing team is looking to yet again repeat the success of last season. With a very early launch date, the team feels confident about the season ahead. There is little reason why the team can not take yet another Constructor's Championship and one of the teams highly rated drivers may also be in with a shot of the Driver's Crown.

Team Principal and owner, Andrew Dickson (the infamous man of many words - or not :), gave us his thoughts and opinions of the coming season in the conference session held at Silverstone.

"I am really looking forward to the season ahead. I think that it will be exciting and there will be a good battle for the drivers championship. A-Racing are hoping to retain the constructors cup. Hopefully there will be even more excitement than last season, and there will be a good scrap for both titles. Good luck to everyone for the season ahead, lets hope it's a good one!"

The team's No.1 driver, Richard Dickson gave his thoughts on the season ahead.

"This season is personally going to be very difficult to begin with for me, since I have a lot of other major commitments this year. Hopefully these will not hamper me too much in delivering the performance that I am hoping to achieve this season. I can't wait to get back on the track and start racing again since I have had little chance to practice in race trim over the winter break. Unfortunately for us, the new steering device that I was hoping to be using in the coming season has not evolved, and I am yet again left with the handicap of using a rather inferior piece of equipment. We will try to make the best of it as last season though, and my personal aim is to yet again be in one of the top three driver placings, and hopefully help to bring home yet another Constructor's crown for A-Racing with the help of my new team mate. I haven't had much chance to speak to Christian yet, but I am sure that we will talk more once we start racing. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Chris at the end of last season after, I feel, he had just begun to show a really fast pace, but I am sure we have found a just as quick driver to take his place. From what I can gather, A-Racing are looking quite strong package wise when compared to our main competition, BA-Racing. It appears that the team manager there was happy to stick with the lesser Jaguar chassis due to their strong links with the team, and give his drivers the beefy Ferrari engines. Thankfully, Andrew had his head screwed on and has gone for a more balanced approach, giving myself and Christian a very good chassis to work with, which will help us throughout the season. I will now hand over to the new boy Christian!"

The team's No.2 driver, Christian Neumann gave his thoughts on the season ahead.

"I'm 18 and I'm living in Marl/Germany. I go to school and my hobbies are watching TV, computer, cycling and chess. I started driving in GPG and GP3 Champs. Unfortunately GPG ended after the second race. GP3 Champs have had a hard first season with not many competitors. I won the season. After that I decided to do more. It was obvious that I must start in such a great league as GPVWC is. Beside I'll try to defend my title in GP3 Champs. I'm very happy that I drive for the best team, A-Racing, in GPVWC. Because of that I think I can fight for wins and that I will have a lot of top3 finishes. With Richard Dickson on my site A-Racing is going to defend their constructor title. I don't believe that I can win the driver championship, because I still have a little gap to the very best. But I want to use my chance with consistent good results."

Unfortunately, the glitzy women (no not the spice girls, Rich's missus) were not seen at the launch, however, the aging old band, Queen, gave a brief show providing a fair old bit of glamour!

Typical British weather marred the day however, when just as Richard took the car onto the track the heavens opened and the track was soaked within a few minutes. Christian decided not to go out in the pouring rain, having more sense and disappearing back to his home in Germany!

A-Racing would like to wish all teams a successful season in the 2001 campaign, but not as successful as us!
