DL Racing held a Press Conference earlier today at the Albert Park Circuit - Melbourne.

Dan Lawrence - Team Manager

"Firstly, I would like to congratulate Jason on his superb win. After starting in the lower reaches of the Top 10 he drove a consistent race in which he never really pushed the new car to it's limits. The car was being driven hard - but not as hard as it could be driven. The result may be a false dawn however as several other teams chose not to participate in the trial. We will see in a few days!"

Scott also drove a superb race. He is learning all of the time and I am sure he will be a close match for Jason by the middle of the season. He finished in a strong fourth place after initially outqualifying his illustrious team mate but lost places a lot of time in traffic. The traffic was horrendous as many other teams can vouch for! We are lucky that Scott kept calm and chose to pass in a sensible place and get a decent result for us.

The main reason we particpated trial was to give us some vital testing. Our drivers have been given a full race simulation to get used to the equipment that they will be using in the coming season. The whole mood of the team is very positive. We genuinely believe that we will have both cars in the top 6 in Melbourne with strong hopes of a podium.

Our aims for the season in general - to improve on our fine 5th place in the constructors last season and to score points with BOTH drivers consistently. I do not really want to speak about the drievrs title just yet, as it would be far too presumptious, but we are confident for our drivers to be challenging.

Jason Smith - Driver 1

"I would just like to say thanks to DL Racing along with BMW for the equipment to get the job done this weekend, it wasn't always easy, you can see that by the qualifying results."

"I got a couple of lucky breaks during the race, and a great start which always helps. But also we have to keep things in perspective as a team, this was only a trial race which means no points unfortunately, and we also need to find some more speed and setups that can help bring Scott further up the field, and consistently be on the podium together"

Scott Smith - Driver 2

Scott had not arrived in Melbourne in time to participate in the press conference but he is said to be very pleased with his result in the trial and very confident of repeating it in Melbourne
