After much secrecy surrounding the identity of the driver who will partner Christian Neumann in the 2001 season, Darren White was announced earlier today. Darren participated in the 2000 GPVWC season which was the league's opening year for sim racing.

Darren participated in two grand prix events, and won his first World Championship point at Italy in Monza after finishing 12th. He next raced at Australia in Melbourne where he gained much more speed and control from the car than at Italy. He won 6 points here to make a total of 7 championship points for the season.

There are few who say Darren was very unreliable in 2000 and that he wouldn't be a good competitor this season. But CVRT manager Chris Connolly has high expectations and believes he made the right choice, "I believe he (Darren) has matured a lot since his first season, which was with Britten Racing. He now has new racing equipment and has focussed his committment more towards the 2001 season, and believes he can race well and finish in strong positions.

Although I think this will come in time, as Darren is still battling to get used to the new equipment, and may need time to develop his skills with the new device and method of racing. Even though his lack of practise, he is managing excellent times at Melbourne after his test session with CVRT earlier today. He completed 12 laps with the aim of developing his skills, and getting used to how the CVRT-01 handles in general, and also around the streets of Melbourne. I think the first few races will have good results, and possibly even better performances will show as the season progresses. I look forward to how both CVRT drivers, Christian Neumann and Darren White will perform in the season opener at the beautiful Albert Park circuit in Australia. I wish them both the best of luck for the new season, and hope that race wins, fastest laps or Pole positions will be achieved by CVRT this season, and maybe the championship."

Darren White had the following to say, "I am really excited about signing a contract with CVRT, I havn't driven an F1 car since last year and i'm very happy Chris has faith in me and wants me as a second driver fohis team. My main aim during this season is to get good race results, and I hope as the year goes on, I will get much better with more experience, and with the help of Christian I hope to get as many points as possible to help win CVRT the Constructors Title".

The Australian Grand Prix wil be a real blockbuster of a race, with all the drivers going full throttle to show their talent and win their teams vital points which could give a Drivers or Constructors Trophy at the end of the season.
