DL Racing Team Manager, Dan Lawrence, commented on his teams fortunes in Malaysia.

Dan Lawrence - Team Manager

"I am fairly disappointed with the overall performance of DL Racing in qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix."

"I must personally take some of this blame however as I have not properly managed the team for over a week due to intense personal problems, although these are now sorted."

"Scott drove well to gain 9th place but never got the best out of the car. He struggled to get top grips with the Sepang circuit and at one point approached me with a short string of swear words venting his aggression at not being able to push as hard as the car could go. He should improve his position in the race and hopefully score a top 6 finish, although as a team we would be happy to just get both cars to the flag."

"Jason had a nightmare build-up to qualifying and did not turn a single wheel during practice. His problems didn't stop however because as the qualifying session started his power steering system failed leaving him to wrestle the car around the track! He completed 1 flying lap before getting out of the car and collapsing on the floor sue to the unbelievably high temperatures! He is sure to improve his position in the race though and no-one, not even Neumann and Hoek, should write him off just yet".

"It is interesting to see Neumann on Pole as he is driving an indentically powered car [BMW]. We feel that the engine is strong and seeing him up there boosts our confidence as we know it is possible to be consistently at the front. We had Pole in Melbourne if you rememember..that makes 2 BMW poles in 2 races! The CVRT car is fantastic and we are not too far behind them, in some areas we are in front and we plan on closing that gap as much as possible while collecting maximum points in each race. It is not inconceivable that we could win the Constructors Championship this year, we have made massive gains from our 2000 car and things are looking better all of the time."

"This one qualifying session should not be taken so seriously as I beleive that we would have had both cars in the top 6 if we had encountered no problems in the buildup and throughout qualifying."

"I would like toquickly say that TBA Racing have amazed me. They certainly have proved that their Melbourne performance was no fluke and they will make our job slightly harder than it could have been I think!".
