MCR have firmed up deals with their key component suppliers for the 2002 series.

Elf fuels will be supplying MCR for a fee of $40,000 per race, while Michelin is supplying the team's rubber at a cost of $100,000 per event.

The biggest signing, however, is Mercedes who have signed on for two years. Engines will cost $20,000,000 in 2002. Both sides arranged the a clause in their contract allowing either side to opt out of the current arrangement if expectations aren't meant. On MCR's part, a top 8 constructors finish is required. Mercedes, meanwhile, must provide an engine capable of winning races.

Team manager, James Menzies, says "We are ecstatic to have our package lined up already so we can begin planning the 2002 season. Mercedes is a top class engine manufacturer, and we look forward to representing them on the podium."

In other team news, Menzies-Coughlin Racing has been dumped as the team's official name. The name will now officially be simply MCR.

Menzies concludes "We are well underway to establishing a top notch F1 organization and I think with the current deals we have in place, and others in the pipeline, that we can be competitive right off the hop and surprise a lot of people next year."
