Canada proved a good hunting ground for Woods Racing, which comes home with a third place for Dave Carr-Smith and a fourth place for team mate Mark Wicks. This good result ensured Carr-Smith rose up to 5th in the standings, while Wicks, on the back of a record-breaking point finish streak, is third.

GPVWC Media caught up with manager Ollie Woods on the plane back to Britain, where the croydonite was asked about his team's performance in Canada and the rumours regarding Carr-Smith's future.

"Well, I'm delighted with a 3-4. Any podium placing is amazing and to have Mark just behind DCS is also great. Hopefully we can continue this rich vein of form and challenge for the highest possible rankings come the end of the season." said Woods.

On the topic of the very late call for the English ace to compete in Montreal, the team Manager stated: "I know there's been a lot of talk about DCS's future in the team and I must confess that it was my mistake and poor organisation that led to his last minute call-up. I thought the call had been made already and turned my attention to setting up our base in Southampton - fans of the team will know we have a new day-to-day operations centre there as I continue my education - and clearly I'd not sorted things out properly. I fully intend to sit down with Dave and talk about this season and beyond and prove that the team is organised and focused on going from the back of the grid - which, let's face it, we were back in 2005 - up to championship contenders next year. I hope to do the same with Mark Wicks.

"For now, we're focused on bringing home more points and a trophy or two from Mexico. I would love to get another win this year so I can taste the champagne!"

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is a track that should suit Woods Racing's powerful Renault engine - a good reason to place your bets on a win for Carr-Smith or yet another point finish for Wicks.
