Another episode of what has been - rightly - dubbed the "musical chairs" of driver seats has unfolded last night as Woods Racing have announced a shakeup in their line-up for the rest of the 2009 season.

"Unfortunately, Dave Carr-Smith has given notice to us that he has quit the team," said team Manager Ollie Woods. "This is in no way related to the crash in Mexico yesterday, though we do apologise to Gavin Thomas for that. Dave simply has other commitments to address and that's fine by us. We thank him for his time this year and apologise for our lack of organisation at times."

This announcement comes after Carr-Smith, who so far collected 30 points and famously won this year's British Grand Prix, decided to concentrate on his efforts to get a team in the GPVWC Superleague. However, Woods Racing is not destined to remain short of drivers.

"We are pleased to announce that [rookie Romanian driver] Dan Rusu will drive car 4 for the rest of the season." announced the Team. "I met Dan through one of the league directors at the pub this evening, and he's keen and ready to race. Hopefully this will be a long and fruitful partnership. We are still aiming to find another test driver while McConkey is busy driving a Synergetic; anyone interested should get in touch with me."

Dan Rusu will debut at the test in Mugello, and will join a series of successful Romanian drivers which numbers race winners Emanuel Gaczella, Alex Stoica, Laurentiu Albu and current D.O.R. driver Leontin Nemet.
