Yesterday's weekly "Meet the Admins" chat session focused mainly on the new website which is about to be released to the public, but several sporting items were in the agenda. Here is a brief summary of what was discussed.

1. Coding

The 2010 site is basically ready for an alpha release, but still remain a few bugs relating to Internet Explorer (Firefox/other browsers work fine). Coding in general is going really well, with a marked improvement in the speed of delivery of new modules due to the introduction of Subversion software. Work is now beginning in the driver and manager panels within the login monitor, and in the History database section.

Alpha 1 and Alpha 2, its sister release, will only be spaced a few weeks apart to ensure maximum improvement of the users' experience on site.

2. Racing Features

The first "testing" mods for Superleague and Supercup have been completed and will be released together with Alpha 1. Official Pre-Season mods will be released after the bidding process (Superleague) and at Alpha 1 release (Supercup). Mike Phillis produced a very accurate Research & Development programme system, which will be used throughout the 2010 season. It has been tested by prominent drivers within the Superleague, receiving great feedback. The GPVWC Administration also announced the MMG2007 engines will be used as base for the 2010 Superleague engines. Duplication of supplies will be necessary, and Mike Phillis is to research the data to produce a list of engine specs for the bidding process.

The next "Meet the Admins" chat session is to take place on Tuesday, January 19th, at 6.30 PM.
