Following the extremely successful pre-season opener in Jerez last week, the GPVWC Administration expressed appreciation for all the drivers who turned out and made the test one of the best-attended sessions ever. The Admins also took the occasion to explain a few changes that will be introduced in tomorrow's test in Monza.

"To see 25 drivers on track was a fantastic experience, and we hope to repeat it in our next pre-season sessions" said Admin William Ponissi, "we do hope everyone had a good time and learnt something more about their cars." Ponissi also explained how test sessions are great moments for reserve and test drivers to gain valuable track time in the midst of drivers who are getting ready for official races: "Drivers are the lifeblood of any championship; not only they contribute massively to the development of a vehicle and its setup, but they are the ones who build up the necessary experience to be competitive when they are called upon to race."

In the light of the need to keep testers active, the GPVWC Administration decided to allow teams, in an experimental way, to field as many drivers as they prefer and at any time duringthe Monza track. "We know our track safety limits allow only 30 drivers, and the GPVWC rules have a maximum of 48 drivers under contract (4 for each team), but we also know teams like to let their drivers take to the track in shifts. We are curious to see how the situation will unfold in Monza - hopefully, teams will use the common sense which, in the GPVWC, has always helped everyone beyond what rules state."

All teams will then be able to field the totality of their four drivers at any time during the test. However, should the server be full at any point in the test and one of the teams unable to field at least two drivers, one of the outfits fielding more than two drivers will be asked to make a space in order to guarantee everyone's participation.

The test at Monza starts on Thursday at 7 PM British time.
