European Williamson Dynamics Grand Prix have stated that the team is aiming for a top 5 finish in the Constructors Championship this season. While such a result would be a marked improvement over last season, the bar is still set rather low for a team which has made a name in other series for steady progression throughout the season and overall strong performances.

"In an ideal world, we'd be champions. In an almost ideal world, I'd like to see us take third.. I think taking the fight to Nordsjoen will be difficult for anyone. Its my belief that Synergetic and Draig are the two teams best placed going into the season to put the pressure on the champions. I want to see my cars right behind that fight.. some see it as a big ask, but I believe Tim and Ojay have the talent and consistency and our test and support teams are among the best in the business. We will support them all we can and hopefully a 4th or 5th in the standings by the end of the season will be possible." Stated team owner, Ben Williamson, before going on to add: "I would certainly celebrate that level of finish, but competition will be tough and nobody's future in the team is at stake this year.. this is a rebuilding season for us after all. However, I do not believe it is impossible for us to make the top 5 and I'd be delighted to see it happen. Failing that, I would be very disappointed if our name was not included in the top two thirds of the standings. I think we have provided the resources and the car to do well this season and we all remain hopeful."

WD is the most recent in a number of teams reluctant to associate themselves with the front end of the grid in such uncertain times, with most opting to state a top 5 finish as their season target.
