On the eve of the teams' engine deals being announced, Synergetic manager Mal McKee found an old helmet and suit lying around and took out driver Christoph Lichtenstein's car to get an impression on the progress and to help dry the paint!

Synergetic are looking at several possibilities to secure engines for the season. So far, rumour has it that two engine deals may be ruled out of the equation. One is a brand associated with a certain red-coloured car, and the other is Synergetic's long-time partner in the GPVWC, Cosworth.

Our reporter caught up with Christoph, who looked to be biting his lip when asked about the two engines. "In my humble opinion it is, and always will be, just rubbish." Rumour also has it that Christoph's forthright opinions have caused a bit of a stir at the Synergetic camp. "Nah - Christoph's in great shape, and looking forward to getting in the car. I think maybe we're all just chomping at the bit, wanting to get started to be honest. There's nothing like sitting in the car going around the track and feeling the wind flowing through your helmet to clear the air!"

The team are currently looking for new helmet suppliers. Contact them on the usual number/e-mail address.
