Constant Racing enjoyed their strongest test of 2011 at Monza last week. The team finished a very productive day with two of their drivers solidly in the top five. After a fairly quiet pre-season this performance comes as a welcome boost for the English outfit and has certainly not gone unnoticed amongst rival teams.

New test driver Fernando Laaff showed his class by clocking the 3rd fastest time at the Italian track. Impressively, after only limited time in the CR-SL11, the German was only half a second shy of Joe Consiglio? 1:20.461 benchmark.

Mark Stanton was equally impressive as he rose to 5th in the last hour of running. It? fair to say Stanton really seems to have found his feet in the new car and it looks like he?l be strong from the get-go in 2011. William Ponissi focused on clocking up the miles at what is reported to be his favourite circuit on the calendar. The Italian was less than three seconds away from the ultimate pace after completing close to 100 laps.

With Constant seemingly on an upward trend, the first race at Melbourne can? come soon enough for the St Helens based squad.
