After a couple of week's break, the teams have now arrived in Kyalami for the only African event in this year's calendar. It's been a turbulent start for Superleague newcomers Triple-Double Racing who we've joined for a lap of the track with Phil Perkins at the wheel.

Commentary: Adam Smith

Q) This is your first time out on the track in the TDR car - how did it go?

- From the lap you can see the TDR car is a handful to drive but it went ok considering I was running a basic setup.

Q) GPVWC is returning to Kyalami this year, so what are your feeling to coming back? Is a difficult circuit for a driver?

- I quite like Kyalami as it has some challenging corners and is pretty fun to race if you can nail the laps. It's not really difficult for a driver, just more of a challenge than your conventional track.

Q) In your own words how would you describe your driving style?

- Hmmm I tend to go with pretty smooth and not aggressive at all, which is a hindrance sometimes - specially with a car like the TDR, where you have to drive it quite aggressively to get a half decent lap time.

Q) Do you think that the tight and twisty nature of the track will provide some interesting battles in the race? Are your team hoping get a good result here?

- Yeah being a little bit tighter it will give some good battles, but the lack of overtaking opportunities will also cause some moves which could be race ending with people getting a little aggravated at times. Kyalami should be quite a good track for us as its less dependent on the engine, since the Toyota isn't all that good for tracks with longer straights.
