Computrac Motorsports announced, through their Team Manager and driver Gavin Thomas, that the team will undergo its second rebranding in two years, with the outfit now being known as Red 5 Racing.

Two full years have passed since the original Red 5 Racing Superleague voyage took place, a voyage that never really got afloat after Wayne Mullins left for Draig Racing and Thomas ended up racing for Synergetic Motorsport. What followed defied belief, as first Thomas took over Red 5 Racing and turned them into constant points scorers in the two seasons of Supercup and then Mullins was banned by the GPVWC Administration for aggressive behaviour in the forums!

Yellowbirds took up Red 5's grid slots, re-branding themselves for 2011 as Computrac Motorsports. Marco Vandenbroeck, who owned and managed the team, departed shortly after and Thomas became both driver and Manager for the ailing team.

With the confident and young Ben Morgan, Thomas himself and William Tringas pushing the car in testing, the team managed to turn the season around come Canada, thanks to some heavy investment into the R&D section of the factory. Ironically, Red 5 Racing now replaces the team that took its spot on the Superleague grid.

Armed with the knowledge they had impressed the paddock with their improvement since Thomas took charge of the outfit, Red 5 Racing re pushing on to new challenges.

"I always said that we (Red 5 Racing) would be back at the big table one day!" stated Thomas. "It feels that the time is right to announce a few things now that the 2011 season is over and our contractual obligations to Computrac Computer Services has been fulfilled."

"We'd like to announce a few small things that are set in stone; stability has always been a big thing for us, whether as Computrac or as Red 5 Racing. With that in mind, we have been in contact with Ben Morgan and with William Tringas." said Thomas.

"I am delighted to say that both have signed a pre-contractual agreement to stay on with the team for the forthcoming 2012 Superleague season."

Red 5 also confirmed that they will run 2 'feeder' teams in the Supercup and the Formula Challenge, for which they are actively recruiting drivers. All interested parties should contact Gavin Thomas by PM on the forum or through the teams website, www.red5racing.co.cc
