Woods Racing manager Ollie Woods today stood in front of the press to discuss the 2011 season. The season saw Woods slump from two years as runners up to finish 5th in the league after numerous problems and bad luck. Woods looked tired as he took to the stage.

"There's no doubt in my mind that this has been a tough season, the toughest one I can remember in a while. Mercedes delivered the goods but the Renault was just so much faster; however that's not a fair excuse to use. We struggled to get the car in the right direction, being too conservative with upgrades; we kept on our old route of R&D instead of trying new things which crippled us a bit. Our drivers were so unlucky as well; it's simply not fair that Kieran had the luck that he did, but I guess we have to make our own luck sometimes. In short, we weren't where we wanted or needed to be. We'll do better next year though. It will be hard securing the engine and sponsors that we want but I will do my very best, especially considering it will be our tenth year in motorsport. I did consider calling it a day a couple of times, but I believe we are still worthy of being champions and I will not give up while that is still a possibility. Doing anything other than this would make the last ten years a joke - we've all worked so hard to go from nothing to where we are and I'm not taking that all in vain."

Woods also spoke about the news that team stalwart Mark Wicks will be leaving to set up his own team, Kernow Sport:
