The team of Lee Morris and William Tringas won the inaugural GPVWC Race of Champion after an ever-so-close final that saw them go all the way to the tie-break before edging past Lewis Redshaw and David Stanton.

The event was the fitting conclusion for this fun event, one that was well received by all drivers who competed. After quarter finals and semi finals saw the remaining big names, such as Pavel Loknovski, David Jundt and Simon Cattell, drop out, the final produced one of the closest-matched results in the event.

Morris beat Redshaw and Stanton finished ahead of Tringas in the Porsches to make it 1-1, and wins by Morris and Redshaw in the second round of matches with the Ferraris saw the score tied at 2-2. The Peugeot cars used in the preliminary rounds were then taken out for one last spin, in which Morris managed to overcome Redshaw by a mere 0.2s to claim the first Race of Champions Trophy for himself and Tringas.
