From their headquarters deep in the South Wales Valleys, Red 5 Racing?s Team Manager and Co-owner Gavin Thomas called a press conference to put straight what he called ?the gossip mongers on the grid?.

?There has been much said about Janne Tanskanen?s return to the GPVWC grid, I think it?s time that I put the rumour mill to bed. I had been in contact with Janne through certain networking media on the internet for some time, I had approached him before Christmas 2011 to see if he wanted a drive for the team? stated Thomas before further adding ?Janne was open and honest in his feelings and was unsure of his intentions with regard to driving for 2012, we had a verbal agreement on him testing for us with a view to a possible race seat if it suited both the team and driver. I am understandably disappointed not to have Janne drive for us in 2012 and feel as if I have done all the leg work without any reward, but I do wish Janne all the best with Red Archer for the 2012 GPVWC Superleague.?

Thomas would rather concentrate on the positive outlook for his team.

?Now we (Red 5) can concentrate on our own campaign which is taking shape nicely; we have secured a superb backroom team, we have just received a great response on the sponsorship front and have a driving line-up that can, given the right car, challenge for points this year! I am really looking forward to the first test session and seeing how we stack up against the established teams and the new ones that have entered! One thing is for sure, our success or failure will be down to the dedication and determination of everyone in the Red 5 family!?

With that Thomas left the podium. The only question left now is: will the Men of Harlech secure a better engine deal than they had as Computrac Motorsport? And can they really challenge for points? One thing is certain
