The lineup of Racing Team Schroten for the Formula Challenge has some surprises for this season. Following the announcement that Roy Schroten couldn't drive for the team - the Dutchman drives in the Supercup and can therefore not drive in the Formula Challenge - the team had to look for an other driver and luckily found one.

The second cause of concern within the team was an internal communication problem that resulted in all the livery proofs for the new car being lost, resulting in the design team having to start all over again, just before the launch.

The first driver isn't a real surprise - Mike Schroten will drive as first driver for RTS. Manager and brother Roy explained to a journalist: "Mike is talented and can be very fast. He has proved himself in the Masters, scoring some good results". Mike added: "I want to learn even more and am sure I can get much experience this season. I'm hoping to get some points and I'm sure I can do that with the team".

The second driver is a new name in the world of GPVWC. Marcus Sundstrom has signed for the team just a week ago. He is currently active in a fun competition, but couldn't refuse the offer to drive in a prestigious competition such as the GPVWC. A journalist asked Roy why he plumped for Marcus. "Marcus is a young talented driver", He explained. "He learns fast and the Formula Challenge is the best place to do that."

Roy Schroten will do all the managing tasks.
Roy said at the car launch: "I am really looking forward to this season. I know the drivers will do everything they can to get the best result they can get. Therefore they are perfect for the team. I don't expect that we can go for the championship, but I'm sure we can get some great results though. The car is great, and looks great if you ask me!".

The people of RTS have worked hard to get the car ready and to improve everything. At the test track of RTS (Zandvoort) Roy drove the first meters with the car. The team made a movie for the 2012 season, which you can view below. The competition will be very strong, but we will try to beat them with everything we have - let's see how this season will go.
