Midnight Motorsport Technical Director Dave Carr-Smith today moved
to suppress talk that the Australian GP winning squad was concerned by the
prospect of squaring up against long-term protagonists Nordsjoen Racing, following words of confidence from the Welsh-based outfit.

?We?re all too aware of the threat that Nordsjoen pose; you don?t
luck into success at this level, they know what they?re doing. But
people mustn?t forget that we?re not new to the game either, our team?s very
foundations date back to the culmination of the 2009 season, a year in which we
dominated the final five races, our only five races of the season ? albeit
under the guise of CSG Racing at that time.

After Australia I had a lot of people coming to me, surprised with
what we achieved; truth be told we were extremely confident heading into
Melbourne. We knew what we had; it was part of a plan dating back to the very
foundation of the current outfit at the beginning of last season. We stopped
developing the 2011 machine once we were secure in our positions within the
standings in order to concentrate on our 2012 campaign; something that
obviously helped a great deal with what you saw in Melbourne.?

Despite the team?s blistering pace at the Albert Park Circuit,
Carr-Smith doesn?t believe that the advantage the team holds over its rivals is
one that will last.

?Our advantage in Melbourne was exaggerated, there?s no doubt about
that. Both Nordsjoen and Draig ran into issues throughout the race allowing
Lukas to achieve a much bigger advantage than we had anticipated him achieving.
It?s also true to say that a lot of teams didn?t bring much in the way of new
components to Melbourne, I can only assume that there are developments being saved
for these next two or three events; I expect the running order to alter quite
significantly before we get back to Europe in late April.

We?re expecting a challenge sooner rather than later. Nordsjoen, Red
Archer and Draig are more than capable of developing a good car. We just
happened to get to get the jump on them for Melbourne. This won?t be a runaway
championship by any stretch of the imagination; it?s going to be atantalisinglyclose season, but we?re ready.?
