Following ambitious claims from Draig Racing's Lee Morris theMidnightMotorsport squad has hit back, revealing its latest signing in a series of moves that the British team has undertaken in order to solidify their position amongst the GPVWC elite.

It has been widely reported the Midnight Motorsport team has been preparing itself for a fight back from established teams such as reigning champions Red Archer VRT, Nordsjoen Racing and Draig Racing, but today's announcement indicates the level of detail to which the team is working at in order to ensure that the outfit is functioning at its full potential.

"Midnight Motorsport is very pleased to announce the acquisition of Australian Data Analyst Jamez Shepherd. Jamez will be working with us throughout the 2012 season with a focus on fine-tuning each aspect of our car and driver's performance. He will also liase with the team's Technical Director, undertaking simulation and analysis in support of car development to be undertaken on the MM-02, and shortly MM-03 machines."

Team Owner Nick Rowland provided us with the following comment:

"We are very lucky to be able to bring Jamez onboard. We are fully aware of the threat surrounding us from the other teams and we are taking nothing for granted. Adding Jamez will only serve to add further strength and depth to the team along with providing us with critical data analysis for the remainder of the season."

The Midnight Motorsport boss went on to add that comparisons between the team's 2012 campaign and Draig Racing's 2011 early season efforts are laughable; pointing to the wealth of experience layered throughout the team as one of the key aspects in the team's ability to avoid such a downturn in fortunes.

Technical Director Dave Carr-Smith echoed Rowland's comments, adding:

"It's funny that Lee has highlighted round six of the championship as the turning point in Draig Racing's season, we all know that Lee is very good at Monaco; we expect nothing less than for him to be in contention for the victory there, but one circuit does not make a championship. We know that our rivals will be making in-roads into our advantage, but we're certainly not sitting back waiting for it to happen. The whole team is working tirelessly to ensure that we make it as hard as possible for our fellow competitors. We certainly won't just roll over and give up once others begin to challenge us."
