Team boss Mal McKee has made his prediction with regard to the outcome of the Formula Challenge Drivers' Championship - one that tips Romanian leader Emanuel Gaczella to finish the season on top.

"It might seem like a safe bet, considering Emanuel's won two and hasn't dropped off the podium yet, but something people should be reminded of is this guy's experience - he's won races in the Superleague in the past in a very competitive year. He's rivalled and even beaten legendary former multiple-champion Steve Elencevski. While it's not going to be a walk in the park with drivers like Parisis, Teien and De Vos nipping at his heels, the only thing that might be of concern is his commitment level," said McKee.

Gaczella's commitment seems pretty solid at the minute though and, with the help of rising star Adrian McNaughton, the team are literally 'Storm'ing their way into the lead of the constructors' championship.

When asked about his own team's fortunes, Mal answered with enthusiasm, "I think the team has potential. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, I wasn't able to nurture the team to any extent, nor open driver development, at the beginning of the season, and I lost two drivers which meant I had no entry for the first round.

I also lost a bright new driver from my very own neck of the woods to his ambitions in the Supercup - somebody obviously noticed the potential and talent. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate Andrew [Morgan] for driving with us and for scoring points in his GPVWC début. He'll do well in the Supercup. I hope he considers staying on with us as reserve driver.

Things are improving though - contact with the drivers has been established, and I'll be working on driver development as soon as I've put the Superleague team into proper gear. Our latest contracted driver, Wesley Morris, also deserves congratulations on scoring points for the team on his GPVWC début. I can see Wez improving through the year. Eurico has slightly disappointed with an apparent no-show for the last race - I've yet to catch up with him to find out what happened, but I thought he looked reasonably quick for Italy. I can see potential in him if he sticks it out."

Synergetic are climbing slowly up the ranks as a team in the Formula Challenge competition. Although they're "starting on the back foot", as it were, Mal hopes a level of commitment combined with the introduction of some basic driver development will help the team continue to climb well into the top half of the constructors.
