The GPVWC Press caught up with Kim de Schutter earlier today and conducted a rare interview with the KRB Team Manager and GPVWC Governing Body member....

How is it to be back competing in the GPVWC?

Great! The internet is a big part of my social life. In the week I am not at home but I live in a building with single rooms, here I study and go to school. So I spend a lot of my time on the internet. I enjoy every moment, every day with the league. I competed in e few GP2 leagues, the GPVWC really is the best league there is. Dan and Jason are leading it with a lot of professionalism.

Was it a straightforward decision to return to the GPVWC? or did you have to think about it for a long time?

I was really surprised when I recieved a mail about the GPVWC. When I read the mail, I immediately wanted to join again. In 2001 I had a lot of fun with the GPVWC altough I didn't completed a single race because of driver problems.

Why did you name your team KRB?

I wanted to name my team also Kimpusoft in 2001...Kimpusoft is a kind of company I could set up, I would make websites under the name Kimpusoft but I also do a little of programming. Because I wanted everybody to know I'm from Belgium and not from The Netherlands I made Kimpusoft Racing Belgium of it. A little bit inspired by Spirit of Belgium, this was to promote Belgian drivers in F3000.

What sort of state is KRB in at the moment?

Very good, there are no problems. We sign one top-deal after another so :D

The designing is also processing very well! The new site will be finished soon, so expect a new style. That's also our new moto: New look...New style...Fast cars!

You recently signed a lucrative deal with HSBC...infact it is rumoured to be the best deal in the GPVWC for 2002!....How did you do it?

Well... I take my time to write a good letter, no standard things, always different letter. As you know, I have a top commercial manager and a lot of commercial personell. Sorry but I cannot tell you some numbers.

How confident are you for good results in 2002?

Pretty good. As I told you about the deals, we are looking for the best drivers now. I really look forward to the next test, more drivers will participate so...interesting. The drivers who will not compete then will have almost no chance of signing with us..so guys this is important for candidates!

Are you in contact with any talented drivers in reference to them driving for KRB in 2002?

I recieved mails from drivers who say they are good( winning X championships...) but I want to wait untill after the test.

What is it like being on the GPVWC Governing Body? Have you had many chances to voice your opinions yet

We only held one voting yet so... Being part of it has also its responsibility. I expect more meetings when the season starts but I am confident we will solve every problem professionaly.

Thanks Kim....best of luck for the 2002 season :)
