Hawkeye Racing driver Jamez Shepherd has today slammed allegations of intent to leave Hawkeye at the end of the season to enter his own team in the 2013 Superleague season.

?I already had my own team in Korea and Turkey. If my intention was to enter a team next season, it would have only made sense to hold on to the team that I already had?, said Shepherd. ?I?m fully committed to Hawkeye, and my only focus is to finish this year strongly for the team.?

Shepherd also revealed that contract negotiations breaking down between the team and Green Stripes Racing?s Dave Carr-Smithhas notcreated a setback for the teams 2013 preparations.

?Dave?s decision to not join the team for the 2013 season has not set us back. The decision itself was a mutual one. Hawkeye simply doesn?t have the resources at the moment to manage both drivers contracts and build a competitive car for next year.

We have already discussed driver contracts within the team, and will be making an announcement shortly. One that I?m sure won?t surprise.?
