Being
invited to a new race team factory is always a pleasure. Lots of drinks (
Belgium beer ), snacks and of course a new beautiful fast car. Today is such a
day as we visit the brand new headquarters of Midori Motorsport. Founded by
Dimitri Demeulemeester in order to compete in the Formula Challenge they are
aiming big for next season.

After
weeks in secrecy, making deals with sponsors and managing to get a spot on the
grid from the organization the small Formula Challenge team is finally in
business. Demeulemeester contacted several drivers he knew from his own driving
career. Rodney Van der Jeught was signed first as the number one driver of the
team. Big surprise came however when Ricardo Michalewski ( former Vlaamse Racing
League champion ) was signed as a second driver. Both will try their best to
propel the team forward.

Rodney Van der Jeught explains: After a few weeks of solo racing I am in the mood again to get
myself in some serious league competitions. So Dimitri came with a tempting
offer to drive for his Formula Challenge Team. The league seems to be well
organized and looks attractive to drive in by using the career system. I'm
looking forward to be a regular point scorer in my debut year show people my
capabilities. I look forward to be working with Ricardo as he is a very quick
driver and I will be able to learn from him. The unpredictable conditions will
sure be an important factor which I will need to practice on. Looks like it's
going to be a very exiting season and I can hardly wait to get
started!

Because
of the signing of Ricardo Michalewski, who is officially an ART racing driver (
http://www.art-simracing.be ) both cars will be provided with the ART logo to show
the companionship between the two teams.

Ricardo Michalewski: After a
disappointing VRL season I find myself looking for a new challenge. This
challenge came in the form of the Formula Challenge and a new team. Being an ART
driver at first I liked to have a team logo on the car. I can?t wait to share my
expertise and skill with Rodney and our still unknown testdriver. The goal this
season is to propel the team forward, be on the podium and progress both my own
and Rodney?s skills. It has been a while since I even touched an open wheeler
but it is something where my heart is at. Besides competing in the Formula
Challenge ( when selected ) I?ll also stay active in ART endurance events and
the VRL championship where I will drive alongside Steven van Opstal under the
ART banner. 2013 Is proving to be a fantastic racing season, I can?t wait for
those lights to go green.

The
team is eager to get the 2013 season underway. Before they can compete however
they have to be selected for the starting grid of the 2013 Formula Challenge
grid. If the drivers perform anyway near the exquisite taste of the Flemish
beverages this should work out just fine.
