Simink Motorsport today confirmed their intent to secure a position on the Formula Challenge grid in 2013.

After finding success in the GT and Touring categories the move will be the first official open wheeler racer for the team, under its own name, since making its on-trackdébutin August for the 2012 Master Series. The team unofficially launched their 2013 campaign last week with the ?Purple is the new black? event on their Facebook page, unveiling the 2013 livery for their Formula Challenge entrant.

The team are yet to confirm any drivers, but a few have been on the teams radar according to team boss, Jamez Shepherd:

?As of yet Simink Motorsport cannot confirm the identity of any of our drivers. We have established a technical partnership with CSG Racing and Midnight Motorsport, so any decisions on drivers will be made by all three parties, with the best interests for all involved. There are a number of drivers we have been keeping an eye on over the past year, but we need to be sure that whoever we sign can meet the requirements of our two partner teams as well as our own.?

?Simink Motorsport has a history of establishing itself as a serious contender in every category we have competed it. When we took over Red 5 Racing in the Superleague we scored a podium on our début. In the Masters we achieved the fastest lap of the race on our début. In the Winter GT series we scored both fastest lap and race win on our début. And in Melbourne, next season, we intend on holding that record of achievements by firmly putting our foot in the door on in the GPVWC Career Ladder. We have the expectations of our partner teams to achieve great things together, and we have no intention to let them down.?
