Epic Racing has completed it's 2013 Formula Challenge line up with the confirmed signing of Australian driver Louis Wedekindto become the squad's reserve and test driver.

Louis
has raced with Epic before in their first guise on Live for Speed.
Showing remarkable speed coupled with consistency and solid knowledge of
setups, Team Manager Lee Davidson jumped at the opportunity to bring
the driver back into the stable, explaining he was surprised a driver of
Louis' quality hadn't been snapped up earlier.

"Louis is
absolutely Supercup quality and to find he has been left without a drive
for the upcoming season was a surprise, all be it a very positive one.
It's credit to the team's ambition that he's agreed to lend us his
services whilst he still looks for a full time race drive."

"Having
worked with Louis before, I know exactly what he'll bring to the team
and his contribution will become immeasurable, especially when it comes
to helping bring Andy (Smith) up to pace."

With the
signing, there may be fears that the team will be putting newcomer Smith
under pressure immediately, however Davidson was quick to dismiss this,
"I think this move will be extremely positive for not just Andy but
Matt as well. The two Aussies are good friends off the track and a
positive atmosphere is exactly what we need to bring the team up through
the ranks. Louis is here to help and that's exactly what he will do."

Speaking of the appointment, Louis commented; "Obviously,
it's been a little frustrating not being able to find a drive in the
higher-echelons of GPVWC, but after a bit of coaxing from a couple old
friends and a few runs in the car I'm happy to announce that I'll be
returning to the Epic Racing crew. I look forward to working with the
guys to help fine tune setups for race weekends and fill in if need be."

It's believed the team will not stand in the way of any race drive offer that Wedekind may receive.
