Following days of speculation following ST Racing's announcement that they were looking for a replacement reserve driver following the departure of Simon Crain.
Team manager Mark Fuller held a brief press conference at the Grand De Vere hotel, Southampton. He addressed the assembled world press, "Thank you for coming today. The last few days have been a whirlwind following my announcement that we were looking for a new driver."

"Several drivers contacted the team and we were in complex negotiations right up to the wire, such that we even held final negotiations at the Imola circuit. We finally managed to agree contract negotiations towards the end of the test session."

"That meant that our new driver driver jumped straight into the cockpit to complete ST Racing's Imola test session. This meant that we were unable to announce our new driver before he drove the ST. We flew back this morning and I would like to present to you Morten Wernersen ST Racing's reserve driver for the 2013 season."

Wernersen approached the stage and raised his hands for silence "I'd like to thank Mark for giving me this opportunity to drive the ST in the Superleague and I hope to repay his faith in me by assisting the the team to a better season. I look forward to seeing you at the grand prix circuits during the year".

With that Fuller and Wernersen left the stage.
