Brandon Warren speaks to journalists on the eve of the first test in Jerez, introducing new team Rapid Raptor Racing.

Testing begins today at Jerez for the GPVWC Formula Challenge series. Teams and their respective drivers are set to run their preferred programs in order to familiarize themselves with the 2013 spec cars in a proper testing environment. However, today's true test will be one of adaptation due to the rainy conditions predicted to hit the circuit. In such an unpredictable environment, where drivers are not familiar with their fellow competitors, the greatest challenge seems to fall on the new teams and drivers for the 2013 season.

One of the new teams is the yet to be officially announced Rapid Raptor Racing. A late entry in the Formula Challenge series, not much is known about the outfit based out of the American midwest. Up until just recently, critics expressed their own doubts as to whether or not the team would even make it to the grid due to logistical concerns. Many have questioned if the team has even made any preparations in lieu of the Jerez test.

Our senior correspondent and self proclaimed Formula Challenge analyst, Jack McFlapjack, caught up with Triple R's own Brandon Warren. His interview with the nonchalant and narcoleptic owner/driver of the Rapid Raptors revealed some interesting insights into the challenges facing this young team.

Jack McFlapJack: First of all, thank your for having me. Although I have to say that I am surprised you have yet to transport the car to Jerez. Is your team even prepared for this?

Brandon Warren: Of course we are Jim..

JM: Jack

BW: Yeah but you look like a Jim to me so we will go with that. To answer your question, yes of course we are prepared for this. We may not have a complete team yet but I don't see how that will hurt us on this test. The team have studied hard for this one Jim, I mean we pulled an all nighter to make sure we score at least a 90 percent. The car you see right there is about to be taken to the shop in order to have our livery put on it.

JM: So you don't even have a livery yet? How will you get the car to Jerez on time?!

BW: Jim we have rental cars for this kind of thing. They still drive on the right side of the road in Spain so i am sure we can cope.

JM: You won't even be ready for the test!

BW: What sort of nonsensical talk is that? I have well over 20 years of experience with testing. I have multiple college degrees you know! Listen, every member of this team has experience in every kind of test whether it be multiple choice, short answer, or even those damn essay questions! We have got this! The logistics and preparation involved in this kind of thing are sound.

JM: Don't you think you will make a mistake?

BW: Like I said before, a lot of preparation has gone into this. This is why we have number 2 pencils with those little erasers on the end of them. No one is perfect you know and we are bound to make a couple mistakes, but that doesn't mean we can't just erase that mistake and correct it. Come on Jim you know better than that!

JM: I don't think you understand..

BW: No Jim I think it is you who doesn't understand a thing about what is going on here! I don't have time for this, this interview is over!

Shortly after the interview was over, it was reported that Warren had "made a huge mistake" and was forced to make emergency shipping arrangements in order to get the unfinished car to Jerez on time. Sources close to Warren reported that he regretted his decision to base the team headquarters in the middle of no where, thus placing the teams equipment unnecessarily far away from nearly every track on the 2013 calendar.
