Some teams are rumoured to have completed their 2002 car designs as the battle commences to field the best car possible for the coming season.

The question on the lips of most Team Managers at the moment must be 'I wonder how we will compare to the opposition in 2002?'...

The truth is, no one can tell at the moment, which is adding to the exciting tension that is building around GPVWC circles...

Some teams are better prepared than others, some teams are more committed than others, some teams are more focused than others....but no-one can tell for sure who will be the fastest...at least until the 1st official tests...

Team Admin, Dan Lawrence, Commented "Sure, I can definately see some teams being faster than others...I think I know who the 'top 4' will be in the 2002 GPVWC, I also am pretty sure who the tail enders will be"

When pushed on who these teams were, Lawrence refused to elaborate, but stated "Some Team Managers will have a pretty nasty shock in Melbourne, the less committed ones will definately struggle"

The GPVWC has come a long way with Team Managers. Since the league formed in mid 2000 it's administrators have always expressed their view that good team management is just as important in getting a good result as a good driver is in moving the car.

2000 didn't yieldmuch from a team management point of view, but 2001 saw this role change dramatically, giving a Team Manager much more control over the success of his team.

Like real Formula 1 there are masses of variables which all need to be closely followed to ensure that a team remains competitive.....it will definately be interesting to see which Team Managers can excell in this field...

As a journalist, I am probably not qualified to really comment yet, as like you, I haven't seen any of these guys in action.

History shows that some current GPVWC teams 'should' be definate contenders though...

BA Racing race the sensationally quick Jason Endean in previous seasons and will undoubtably be strong, whether Endean re-signs with them or not. CVRT (formerly A Racing) are former Constructors Champions and will have the bonus of momentum on their side.

The wildcards are Hernj-Roaldo, KRB & Jonk GP...all of these teams are showing considerable promise. Hernj-Roaldo are in the enviable position of running BMW power in 2002 (rumoured to be the strongest engine in F1) which should help them to some top results. KRB & Jonk are both running with Ferrari which will help them massively.

The teams I haven't mentioned are by no means out of the equation...drivers haven't even been signed after all!...but the facts are plain to see that the above teams should, in theory, be the contenders for the 2002 crowns.
