The world's media packed out the Jerez circuit today as Woods Racing launched their 2013 challenger. It was a low key event with no fanfares or dancing girls, leaving the focus on the car.

Team manager Ollie Woods did, however, find time to make a speech.

"Firstly I must say how much I am indebted to our technical team for producing such a beautiful car - and so different to last year's too. I must thank Jamez Shepherd too - this is the first ever GPVWC Woods car not to have the livery designed by me, mostly due to personal reasons, but Jamez has reimagined the Woods styling and has done an amazing job. The boys can't wait to take the car round Melbourne next week, and even then the car will look a bit different to what you see now.

Talking of Melbourne, we have an announcement to make about our second car, number 17 there. Some say he's going to Lapland to become the new Santa Claus, and that he spent so much time in the sauna that his skin has shrivelled up to the size of a prune; all we know is, Teemu Toikka won't be with us in Melbourne, our test driver Ben Warren will instead drive for the team. Ben is excited about the opportunity and I can't wait to see what he and Tom can do. Normal service should be resumed at Sepang."
