United Racers today confirmed that the team would enter the GPVWC World GT series in the Mercedes SLS AMG, whilst also announcing the signing of English driver Mark Wicks who will partner Ihab Abbas.

Mark Wicks has a huge amount of experience with various GPVWC leagues and currently drives for Streetfighter Racing Systems in the Supercup series. He is the founder and manager of the Kernow Sport which is currently competing in the Superleague. Wicks is a GPVWC veteran, debuting in 2002, famed for his consistency, a skill which led him to a string of 34 consecutive point finishes in the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

In 2012, Kernow gained a slot on the Superleague grid and Mark left Woods after six years to lead his own outfit during its debut season.

"We are proud to have such a gentleman in the team, he will add more values to us, and we hope to get some good results when he get behind the wheel of the Mercedes." Ihab Abbas United Racers CEO said.

Wicks will drive car #26 while Abbas will drive car #27.
