Not a dream debut for Scott Moore, as the driver crashes out of World GT season opener at Monza.
The World GT seasons opening event was Monza and as qualifying came around the problems began to start shining through for Moore as the Ferrari 458 wouldn't start. The mechanics worked on the car and although the problem hasn't been revealed publicly they did get it started but only mid way through the final warm up session before the race began. Talk about cutting it close. With Moore missing qualifying this meant he would start down the back end of the field in 26th place.

As the green flag was waved and Moore exited the final turn it was a steady start. Nothing special but also wasn't sloppy. Time went on and Moore managing to avoid the accidents that was happening in front of him and picking his way through the debris just fine. There was a short period were Moore found himself battling close to David Jundt until Jundt spun in the final turn and clipped Moore's car as he tried to avoid him. Nothing intentional and just one of those things. From there on Moore went on to build a gap of nine seconds before making one fatal error that resulted in retirement from the race.

"It's my own fault. There was no one around me and i was building a gap between myself and David and i took my eye off the ball. I let my concentration go for a split second shifted up into fifth gear when i should of braked and shifted to third and flew off the track and into the awaiting barrier. I had to let go of the wheel as there was nothing i could do. It was a heavy and fast impact, one that forced the car to nose dive on impact with the barrier and tore my left front wheel clean off the car. Thankfully i sustained no injuries and the mechanics said its fixable. So i will be driving the same car in Austria."

"I am disappointed to have let the team down as at the time i was the sole remaining RTS car. I am not sure what happened to Fabio I haven't yet caught up with him. I just know he retired early in the race. I don't mean to sound big headed and its easy to say it now but I think I may of had the chance if not come close to finishing just in or just out of the points the way the cars were dropping like flies out there. But still onward and upwards and hope for a good solid finish at the next race."
