Halcyon Racing announce the signature of Jamez Shepherd. The Australian is drafted straight into the line-up for this weeks Superleague Hungarian Grand Prix
Team owner Adam Rouse spoke at the Budapest Airport as team personnel began to arrive for this weeks GPVWC event in the country.

"We are delighted to announce Jamez Shepherd has officially joined Halcyon Racing in a primary drivers role. First off we would like to thank Simcraft Midnight Motorsport and CSG Racing for Jamez's quick release and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season."

"This deal really was the result of timing and circumstance, as a team we had a discussion about the way forward after the Austrian Gran Prix and we made the decision to start a search for a new Superleague driver should the right one become available. We knew immediately that Nordsjoen Racing would also be in a similar process therefore we were in a position to wait and see what drivers would be available, shortly after Nordsjoen made their choice we were contacted directly by Jamez about a possible race seat."

"Jamez will replace Philip Cullen in the Number 24 car for the Hungarian GP onwards. This season has put a strain on Phillie's current schedule and we were in mutual agreement about how we would approach the situation should the right driver become available. This is not Phillie leaving the team, but more standing down from racing in the Superleague for the forseeable future, he will continue in his role as Halcyon Racing's media manager and we hope to see him in the car again at some point in the future."

"I'm excited about the prospect of having such a talented driver as Jamez in the car and obviously he brings experience from working with some of the top teams in the league with him which can only be beneficial for us. We already know we have lots of work to do in developing the car for the rest of the season but its something we are pressing on with and we are relishing the challenge."

Hours earlier, the PGE Group had announced that Shepherd was moving on from the team in a statement detailing their line-up shuffling. Shepherd is in fact returning to the league, having made his Supercup debut for at Hungary twelve months prior.

Journalists had the opportunity to speak to the Australian later in the day.

?I?m excited to be returning to the Superleague grid in 2013 with the Halcyon Racing team. This is the team that helped me establish myself last season as a Supercup driver. Now I?m returning to the team to begin a new chapter together in the Superleague.?

?During the off-season I had several options in the Superleague, but none had the combination I was looking for to achieve my goals. I took the offer at CSG Racing in the Supercup to wait for the right opportunity to present itself.?

?I owe a big thank you to Nick Rowland & Dave Carr-Smith, my previous managers at Simcraft Midnight Motorsport and CSG Racing, for allowing me to be released from my contracts for the opportunity to race alongside some of the greatest drivers in GPVWC at the highest level.?

?Every driver has the same objective; to win the championship - but I want to be part of the building process with the team, and play a key role in developing the car needed to reach both our targets. There?s no satisfaction in being handed the best car on the grid. Helping build the Halcyon Racing team during the 2013 season is going to be a big challenge, but it?s one I?m looking forward to with much anticipation.?

The team moves forward in Hungary, hoping to continue a run of points scoring races since moving up to the Superleague.
