Wauters Automotive driver Hermse spoke with a couple of members of the press in the paddock after the Hungarian races.
''So, Mr. Hermse, a 10th position, your best result so far. Did you feel like you needed this?''

''Yes, absolutely!'' Hermse says with a smile on his face. ''The first races weren't that great: A lot of errors and a lot of races basicly ended in lap 1, both in the Formula Challenge and the World GT, and after the last World GT race, I felt I needed this both for myself, and for the people who are watching me.

The situation in the beginning of this season is far from where I wanted to be, and I think this performance gives a good, clear signal to other teams and drivers that I can perform quite well when needed, which will obviously boost my chances in the future, both this season and beyond. I know that this is just the beginning: The car was far from optimal, I even had to make a pitstop, which was costing me a lot of time, so next race it can go a lot better, the is just the beginning.''

''Starting from 25th place after a 5 place grid penalty... Was this particularly hard?''

''Not hard, more entertaining. On a track like this, overtaking can be very hard. So I had to wait for others to make mistakes themselves, which was quite interesting and I've learned a lot.''

''What was so different about this race, compared to your past races?''

''The mindset, I think. I have not been living up to expectations, and I just wanted to show that I can actually do this, to me, the teams I've been driving for, and for the audience, because they deserve a fantastic race.''

After Hermse was being asked about his future expectations, he replied:

''Well, the last few races haven't always been easy, and I can understand I'm not getting many fans by not even finishing, but with this boost I think we should be able to first of all build in the World GT, in which I've been a bit under fire lately, and for the Formula Challenge, I think I now know what I can do when everything falls into place. And from there on we build
towards perhaps someday a lucky top 5 finish, in a weekend with a lot of changing conditions perhaps. But, for the near future, I'm going to celebrate this like I have won the race!''
