Supercup racer Roy Schroten reminisces about his league debut at the Istanbul Park back in 2011.

Istanbul, Turkey. In 2011 it was the place where it all began for Roy Schroten. The dutchman made his debut in the GPVWC at the Istanbul track for Triple-Double Racing. Then, a year later, he would get his first and untill now only podium (2nd place) in the Supercup for Synergetic Racing. And here we are again. Now for the 2013 race. The now Supercup veteran was kind enough to tell us his story about the track.

"Turkey has always been a special place for me. The place it all started for me back in 2011. The best thing I know from then is my spin in the first lap at the long right hander. I came to a stop at the middle of the track, and surprising nobody hit me. I managed to finish 14th, which was a good result for a debut."

"Then in 2012, I had my best race so far in the Supercup. The podium so far came as a real suprise as I actually managed to pass championchip leader Petter Kaasa. I didn't expect it at all, so it was an even better feeling when I passed the finish to go to the podium for the first time."

"Now we are only moments away from the 2013 race. My season isn't going like I hoped to far, so a podium looks even more surrealistic than last year. But as always I will try to do everything to get as far up as possible, and to get a good result for the team."

We wish Roy and the CSG racing team the best of luck, and we hope to see you all in Turkey for the Supercup race.
