Halcyon Racing Team Principal Adam Rouse called a press conference with big news regarding the British-based team.
"It is with some regret that I have decided to withdraw Halcyon Racing from the GPVWC Superleague with immediate effect. Our driver issues have been well documented over the past few months and it has now reached a point where our continued absence on the grid is not only not good for the team, it's not good for the league.

I can only offer my apologies to our engine supplier Martex, Nordsjoen Racing and Torrent Motorsports who have all indirectly been affected by our continued absence in official sessions in terms of collecting engine R&D points. I'd like to thank Georgios Davakos for his contributions to the team over the last 7 months and obviously all drivers that competed in a race for us this season.

I have to also apologise to the GPVWC Management who picked our team ahead of others for the 2013 season, I feel we had a very strong application at the time and it's just unfortunate that things didn't quite work out as well as planned. I'm proud that the team scored points on its debut and as it stands now in the rankings the team still sits within the Top 10 despite all our issues.

I feel that pulling the team out with immediate effect gives the GPVWC and all its members the opportunity to know ahead of time that a team slot is available for the 2014 Superleague season. This gives them plenty of notice to prepare an application and begin to plan for next year even at this early stage."
