After a highly successful first half-year in simracing, Enterprise GP head into 2014 in the knowledge that website TheSixthAxis has terminated their sponsorship deal with the Bromley-based outfit effective as of 1st January 2014.

The news, which broke following the British round of the International Touring Cup, ends any association the team had to TheSixthAxis Racing which was where the team originally was conceived. The reasoning behind the termination of contract was due to team principal James Kirk's departure from the TSA Racing administration and a similarity in the liveries of the two teams.

TheSixthAxis are not the title sponsor of Enterprise (FMCG holds that right) however the departure of the gaming website's logo from the cars leaves telling gaps to be filled. The team have announced they are on the lookout for multiple new sponsors over the course of the Christmas break and anyone interested should contact team principal Kirk.

With the team ending the year on a high with a second podium to add to their name through Tom Parker at Snetterton, negotiations may certainly go smoother than with those sponsors before 2014. However, Kirk still feels disappointed as he made a statement to the press:

"It is with regret that our partnership with TheSixthAxis comes to an end. For a team with a good, clean reputation after such a short time in simracing to lose a partner is quite a shock to me; and a disappointment. Clearly the team has it's own racing outfit to support but one would hope mass coverage would be a positive, not a burden."

The ex-TSA co-team principal also took the time to address reports about unrest between him and his old team:

"I didn't leave the team as a happy party, no. It certainly didn't help when some people believed I was fired. I left the team under my own steam because I wasn't happy with my treatment there. As for now, I enjoy a competitive relationship with them out on the race track but there are certainly still some edges to be buffed out. From my side it is up to them to make the right moves and perhaps we can see how it goes from there."

On 2014, Kirk was excited about what was to come from Enterprise:

"We'll be returning with a brand new livery, brand new aims and aspirations. We've put in an entry for Formula Challenge with two drivers waiting to be announced in the wings. We hope to return to our home of the World Sport Series to compete in a full season and of course we shall return to the International Touring Cup with our team ninth position in the Teams' championship. Watch this space because we might spring a surprise next year."
