SimCraft, title sponsor of championship winning Superleague team Midnight Motorsport, today announced the launch of their own team which will compete in the 2014 Supercup season.
After two successful seasons alongside Midnight Motorsport, a partnership that we will be continuing for the 2014 season, it was important for us to increase our exposure with our own team in the Supercup championship.

We think that the SimCraft SC-014, with a livery designed by Zedderick Designs together with Simink Skins, is a great looking car, with our branding being distinctive and recognisable throughout the design.

Whilst it is too early to be talking about goals for the season, we believe that as a team we can enjoy some great results this season. The Supercup field continues to go from strength to strength; the competition getting stronger by the day, but we have complete faith in our two drivers for the season, and we hope to have an enjoyable season working together.

Our first driver is no stranger to the SimCraft family, having worked with SimCraft Midnight Motorsport and affiliated teams for the past two seasons. We?re thrilled to be able to confirm that Alex Cooper will be taking to the track behind the wheel of a SimCraft Racing car for the 2014 season. Alex has enjoyed some great results in the Superleague last year, and was a championship contender in the 2012 Supercup season so he was a clear choice to lead the team in what will be a very challenging first campaign for the team.

Alex Cooper, #24

"It's been an unusual winter for me, after it became clear that Superleague wasn't an option for this season I gave serious thought about just taking a year out from racing and helping the Midnight guys instead. After testing the Supercup cars a little more recently, I decided that I'd give it another go.

Obviously in terms of talent, the grid is much stronger than when I last raced Supercup back in 2012. There are a lot of guys who could easily do very well in Superleague, so right now I really don't know what to target. I think it would be too optimistic to target wins at this stage, so instead of having set goals I'll just take each race as it comes.

I'm looking forward to working with Florian, I've had lots of experience racing against him in the past, and knowing how hard working and committed he is, I think he'll be there or thereabouts by the end of the season."

Our second driver is a relative newcomer, but has certainly made an impact during his short time here, having impressed during his run out with SimCraft Midnight Motorsport at the Young Driver Test towards the end of the 2013 season, we believe that he has what it takes to push Alex and the other competitors throughout the year and so we are proud to announce that Florian Geier will pilot the second SimCraft Racing car.

Florian Geier, #25

"I'm very happy and very proud to become a SimCraft driver. After joining the league in late August last Year, I really couldn?t have imagined being able to join this incredible team, and all of the people that are involved in it.

Formula Challenge gave me just the perfect chance to get used to everything. Now I get the chance in Supercup to prove what I can do, which will hopefully provide us with lots of memories in victory lane.

Working with Alex is new for me although we have raced as rivals for a very long time. I know very well what he is capable of and this should help us as a team during the year.

Obviously I am still quite new here, but still my goal is, as always, the title. This will be hard to achieve, but I never give up and with this team I think we have a very good chance to achieve that goal."

We strongly believe that this launch shows our ambition and desire to both grow our brand and prove our commitment to sim-racing. We are of course very proud to be here for the 2014 season, and we look forward to an exciting year of racing with Alex and Florian.
