Ahead of the final pre-season test, scheduled to take place on Thursday at Istanbul Park, CSG Racing have unveiled the livery with which they will compete throughout the 2014 season.

Designed by Shaun Stroud of Whata-Designs, the livery retains the now familiar CSG styling despite a departure from the team’s customary colour scheme with a fresh look ahead of the team’s return to the Superleague.

Whilst Whata-Designs remain the clear primary sponsor upon the car, VirtualR.net also retains a strong presence once again, having adorned the team’s cars since the foundation in mid-2009. There is also a nod to the Sean Edwards Foundation, set up in memory of Sean, a friend and former team-mate of both Shaun and Dave, following the tragic events of last year.

The team’s engine suppliers, Potentia, are of course present on the car, the team having confirmed a deal with the Midnight Motorsport operated engine manufacturers shortly before the first pre-season test. Also announced were the signings of several key personnel, who will be instrumental in the outcome of the team’s first season back in the Superleague. Jonas Achen joins the team as Chief Designer after a stint at the German based team, Green Stripes Racing, whilst Holly Birch takes on the role of the team’s Commercial Manager having been lured from 2013 title contenders Nijo Racing, the final member of personnel comes in the form of the Chief Mechanic, a role fulfilled by Herman Venegas who had been previously stationed with the Woods Racing team.

We are fortunate to have managed to secure a set of great personnel and one of the very best engine suppliers for the 2014 season; however the team are not expecting miracles just yet. It is always going to be difficult for a ‘new’ team going into the first race of the season, and despite the quality of the drivers we have in Lewis Redshaw, David Fidock and Florian Geier, we don’t want to be overly ambitious with our targets. At this point in time, the team would be thrilled with just a couple of points and finishing ahead of fellow new-teams, Target Racing and Vod:Bul.

The team received a new upgrade package ahead of the final pre-season test which we hope will aid the team’s performance and preparation ahead of the first race in Melbourne in just two weeks time.
