February 06, 2002
It has emerged today that some teams have actually signed drivers for the 2002 season. I would like to point out that this is forbidden at this point in time.

Teams are free to talk to drivers about the possibility of joining them in 2002...but thats it.

Any contract which may have been signed between teams and drivers at the moment mean nothing.

A senior GPVWC Governing Body member (me or Jason) MUST sign a contract to make it valid. Neither I nor Jason have signed ANY contract, and do not intend to until after the France test.

Besides which, no team knows the price value of any driver yet... It is quite likely that a team won't be able to afford BOTH of the drivers it wants!

Also, any driver who has not officially signed up with the league by 12 Midnight on Tuesday February 12th 2002 will NOT be able to compete (in the test OR the 2002 season).

I have been forced to make these points because some Team Managers are becoming quite disillusioned with the prospect of all teams claiming they have signed drivers (especially as it is forbidden at this point in time).

I would like to assure ALL woried Team Managers that there are MANY more drivers signed to the league who have not provided us with an email address for you to contact them at. After France these will all be published (some drivers do not want to be disturbed by Teams while they prepare for the testing session, so that they can give their all and drive with a clearer head)...

To summarise, chill out!...relax!

Sign drivers when you are told to! not before!
